I love, love this song by Sammy Hart! The lyrics are EVERYTHING! In a world that constantly tries to get us to be any and everybody but ourselves; this song reminds me of how important it is to be yourself, to love and appreciate who God has created you to be. Sammy is a Nigerian gospel rapper and producer. I came across his music last week,and #Ilike it. :-) I hope it blesses you too.

Today, I watched the video clip of Devon Franklin defending his wife, Meagan Good for exposing her breasts as a pastor's wife while promoting their book, "The Wait".In the book, Devon and Meagan shared their journey of celibacy prior to getting married.

When answering questions from the audience at a church in Los Angeles, one lady decided to let Meagan (and everyone) know how she felt about Meagan’s choice of attire on a magazine cover she recently saw:

“This is not offensive, but I was at the grocery store and I looked at a newssatand and saw you — and your had your breast showing,” said the woman. “So, so, I wasn’t gonna come here, I wasn’t, but the Lord brought me here to see you. You’re beautiful. You are a beautiful young woman and your testimony is awesome. It’s awesome. Amen. Amen! The Lord let me come and push past the judgement, because you have to make sure what you say and what you do match up, you understand?

So, we’re gonna cover up, right? 

Devon immediately came to his wife's defence:

“Wait a minue — no! No. Nuh-unh. That is not what we’re here for. She’s not gonna cover up, she gon’ wear what she wants to wear in the name of Jesus…amen. Amen? Amen. Yes she will! God bless you, we love you, I love you dearly but she has been as Christian as she is right now when she wore whatever she wanted to wear, so no we ain’t doing that!”

As chivalrous as it was, I was very uncomfortable with his response. Especially ' She’s not gonna cover up, she gon’ wear what she wants to wear in the name of Jesus…amen. Amen? Amen.'

Stop, in the name of love before go off and pack your bags because your husband doesn't write you long love notes as Facebook status. You know the ones I am talking about.The 'Le boo just came home and bought me this. Isn't he so sweet.' 








  'I love my honey boo bear just because she is so special' often posted with this type of picture.
All of a sudden your darling hubby just doesn't seem to measure up. I mean Lola's husband must be the best thing ever. He surprises her with roses and chocolates for no reason, just for being 'a fab wife.' Have you ever considered maybe Lola's husband gave her the gifts because of the guilt he felt after beating her black and blue. Perhaps, he picked up the chocolates on his way home from his mistress', or even maybe Lola just wants to prove to the world how loving her relationship is by posting present she bought by herself. Think about that before you make your way to Mountain of fire for that 'I must marry someone like Lola's hubby by force' prayer night. 

Of course Lola's spouse might just be a loving and appreciative guy, but the point is, stop comparing. Desist from wishing you had what your friends have and just enjoy what God has blessed you with.
